About Us

Who we are:

We are glad you have found the web site for the Hillwood Presbyterian Church of Nashville, TN, and we hope that you will come visit us in person soon.  Hillwood Presbyterian Church is a loving, caring Christian community that is celebrating its sixty-third year of Serving God by Serving Others.  We are a congregation of the Presbyterian Church (USA) in the Presbytery of Middle Tennessee.  Hillwood Presbyterian Church was organized on December 4, 1955, to serve the developing Hillwood community.  We continue to seek ways to be a center of worship, growth, and service for the Hillwood-West Meade community.  As of church of about 100 members, we are small enough for people to really get to know one another while getting involved in the life and ministry of the church, and are large enough to make a powerful difference together.

Our Mission:

We exist to Serve God by Serving Others.  Over the years our mission ministry has included:

-Mending Hearts

-Habitat for Humanity Builds

-Hosting overnight guests for Room in the Inn

-Support for Monroe Harding

-Support for the Martha O’Bryan Center serving the Cayce Homes of East Nashville

Through our benevolence giving, we support the mission efforts of the PC (USA), including: hunger ministry, disaster relief, the self-development of people, ministry to at-risk youth and young adults, peacemaking and world missions.  We encourage individual members to serve the Nashville community through their volunteer efforts.   We also participate with the Living Waters for the World with a mission team which have gone to Honduras to  install  water systems for villages in need.  We are pleased to house the Hillwood Playcare, a 3 Star rated pre-school serving children from 6 weeks of age to Pre-Kindergarten, (hillwoodplaycare.org).

Sundays:

Each Sunday we gather at 10:30 A.M. for worship.  Prior to Worship we have Adult Sunday School at 9:30 a.m., followed by a time of fellowship at 10:00 a.m.  The Chancel Choir is looking to add voices to it and practices at 9 a.m. every Sunday in preparation for leading in worship.
